Press Release: New Suki's Wardrobe Store Now Open

Sustainable Women’s fashion boutique Suki’s Wardrobe relocates to a prime location on Uppermill High Street.

Female owned and run store Suki’s Wardrobe proudly opens its new women’s fashion boutique on Uppermill High Street, just around the corner from its original location on New Street.

Since first opening in 2018, owner Bekka Simpson has been championing and empowering local women, helping them to find their confidence and express themselves through their fashion choices. A firm favourite amongst women of all ages, Suki’s Wardrobe sells a curated collection of sustainable fashion brands from across the globe.

“Thanks to our amazing customers Suki’s has gone from strength to strength, despite the challenges that the pandemic has presented over the last 12 months or so, and following the launch of the online store last year now feels like the right time to make the next step of moving into a larger retail space. We have naturally outgrown the space available at our previous premises and look forward to offering a greater selection of products in a beautiful new environment. I feel so lucky to be surrounded by such a supportive community! ”

Great lengths have been taken to create a welcoming, stylish space and the stunning interior makes for a truly enjoyable shopping experience. Paying homage to its history as a women’s fashion store, the former Kryshia’s building at 86 High Street in Uppermill has now become the new home of Suki’s Wardrobe and has been lovingly renovated whilst keeping the original features such as the beautiful stone walls that were a striking feature in the previous clothing store. New Rails and display areas, an Instagram worthy themed feature wall, natural wood touches, soft furnishings and indoor plants have been added to reflect the sustainable and ethical ethos of the Suki’s Wardrobe.

The unique design of the new store also takes inspiration from some of Bekka’s creative idols, including Joni Mitchell whose words “Dreams & Schemes” are illuminated in neon lighting on the wall.

At Suki’s there’s an outfit for any occasion, from everyday style staples to occasion wear for those times which require something a little extra special. They also have a beautiful selection of gifts including jewellery, accessories and homeware.

Ethical fashion is a growing and important part of the industry and Bekka’s mission is to make a difference both in her local area as well as the wider fashion community. Stocking brands whose ethical ethos matches her own is of key importance and amongst the range are beloved sustainable brands One Hundred Stars, Mistral, CHALK, Traffic People and Treaty.

Bekka’s passion for sustainability is matched by her desire to bring prosperity and jobs into the local area. Her hope is that the new store will breathe new life and a bit of joy and happiness into the high street after the difficulties many people and businesses have faced over the past year.
